In this video, we’re going to check out what motion blur is all about.
The Motion Blur effect in Camtasia is a post-processing effect that simulates motion blur in your video footage.
This effect adds a subtle blur to moving objects in your video, making them appear smoother and move a bit more naturally.
This can add a little polish to your video that you may not get when elements move in an awkward, jerky way.
For this example, I’m going to add motion blue to a simple set of shapes during an animation.
Before we do, though, let’s check it out.
Especially on fast moving things… it could look a little weird without motion blur.
After adding the blur, it looks a bit smoother. Perhaps — a bit more cinematic.
It’s a bit of a trick on the eye, but it’s pretty effective.
Pro tip: Don’t overuse this. You’re making training videos — not hollywood blockbusters.
This is where art meets technology — you can use that keen eye of yours to determine what might be too much.
But if you find that something is missing from your animations and can’t quite put your finger on it, give motion blur a try.
